For years, the electric dirt bike conversation around Boise was about "light e-motos": fun, quiet, but out of their depth on big climbs and fast fire roads. The Talaria Komodo changes that. It's Talaria's most powerful production bike to date, and it's built for riders who want something closer to a full-size dirt bike, without the gas, the noise or the oil changes.
We carry the Komodo at Treasure Valley Electric Cycles in Eagle. Here's what you need to know before you come see one.
Talaria Komodo specs
What 32 kW feels like on Treasure Valley dirt
Numbers on paper don't do the Komodo justice. With 32 kW on tap, it pulls hard enough to take fast, rolling two-track at speed and climb long grades without fading. The 96-volt system keeps power strong as the battery drains, so the last ten miles of your ride feel a lot like the first ten.
That 12.4 inches of ground clearance and full-size geometry matter too. Rocks, ruts and washouts that would hang up a smaller e-moto roll under the Komodo.
Who should buy the Komodo?
The Komodo is a lot of bike. It's a great fit if you:
Already ride a gas dirt bike or a Sur-Ron-class e-moto and want more.
Are 5'9" or taller and comfortable with a 35.8" seat.
Want long days on fire roads and two-track, not just quick laps.
Like the idea of quieter riding that keeps trail access friendly with neighbors and landowners.
If you're newer to riding, or buying for a teen, we'll probably steer you toward a lighter bike like the ReRode R1+ or 79Bike Falcon GT first. That's the advantage of shopping local: we'd rather put you on the right bike than the biggest one.
Charging and ownership
The Komodo's battery is removable, so you can pull it and charge indoors. That's handy when Treasure Valley winters drop below freezing and you don't want to charge in a cold garage. There's no oil, no air filter and no carburetor to rebuild. Ownership mostly comes down to chain care, brake pads, tires and suspension service, all of which we can help with in Eagle.
